I paint horses in oils and in watercolor. I have a horse and I try to capture the spirit and emotion of these beautiful creatures with strong drawing and creative expression.
My oil paintings are big, bold, vibrant, colorful, chunky, and 3 dimensional on canvass. 80% palette knife work. They are happy and fun and generally have true to life form and lines. Strong lines.
My abstract expressionistic paintings show a play of color, texture, movement and line. I use a layering technique of oil and acrylic, creating depth, mystery, vibrancy and energy.
I'm inspired by The Arts & Crafts Movement (1880-1920) and WPA era. I use color, shape, & typography to evoke the feeling of yesteryear. Gouache on illustration board + custom quartersawn oak framing.
Oil, watercolor, and encaustic. Birdlife subject in contemporary scenarios. Observed behavior and realtionships. Capturing their personality I see human characteristics, humor and beauty can be seen
Being colorblind is a challenge but makes my oil paintings more exciting and adventurous. They radiate qualities of lights and darks, and bright colors makes one stop in their tracks and tells a story
The visual content reflects my passion for wildlife in contemporary impressionistic form. Each painting is developed using numerous sheer glazes and distinctive marks.
